Very easy!
Ingredients and Supplies:
4oz PET Dark Colored Plastic Bottle with Fine Mist Spray Top
1 oz Witch Hazel
3 oz Distilled Water
40 TOTAL drops of the Essential Oil(s) of your choice
Pour 1oz of the Distilled Water and the 1 oz of Witch Hazel into your bottle. Add to that 20 drops of your essential oil(s). Cap the bottle and shake, then sniff it. You can add more essential oil as needed. When you are satisfied with the strength of the solution, add the remaining 2 oz of Distilled Water. Affix a label to your bottle with the recipe! Shake before using.
Notes:
If you are making a spray for a child's room, be sure to check out our page on Aromatherapy for Children to be sure the essential oils are being used appropriately.
Why Distilled Water? Distilled water doesn't have the chlorine, floride and other chemicals that are found in tap water. These chemicals mix with the essential oils, producing unknown chemical reactions.
Why Witch Hazel? The Witch Hazel helps to emulsify the essential oils with the water.
Tip: I learned from personal experience to note the recipe BOTH on the bottle label, AND in a notebook! I took a room spray in my luggage on an airplane trip, and, the air pressure caused it to leak, smearing my lovely recipe label into an illegible mess!

This easy to make recipe makes about 18 tubes.
Ingredients and Supplies:
2oz Shea Butter, Yellow
˝ oz Jojoba Golden oil
˝ oz Beeswax
2 drops Honey
15 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
10 drops Orange Essential Oil
3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
18 Lip Stick Tubes
In a double boiler, carefully melt the Shea Butter using low heat. When the shea butter is melted, add the Jojoba oil and honey, and then the beeswax. When the beeswax is completely melted, stir in the essential oils.
Pour your mixture into lip balm tubes (you need to work fast here!), and put them uncapped into the freezer. (Tip - rubber band your tubes together, they will stand upright in a plastic bowl.) They should stay in the freezer until completely hard, which could be 5-10 minutes. Then, remove, cap, and enjoy!
